Trojans fall to Lakers, 94-84
ESTHERVILLE - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 94-84 decision to Iowa Lakes Wednesday in an ICCAC contest.
Iowa Lakes (5-23 overall, 3-15 in the ICCAC) led 44-42 at the half and outscored the Trojans 50-42 in the second 20 minutes to claim the 10-point home victory.
Iowa Lakes was led by Jermaine Freeman with a game-high 30 points. Cooper Harris scored 16 points for Iowa Lakes and Dominic Preiser was also in double figures for the Lakers with 10 points.
NIACC (15-13, 7-11) was led by sophomore Lance Helming with 20 points. Sophomore Cameron Reigard was next in line for the Trojans with 18 points.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Jacob Martin scored 17 points and freshman Jordan Terhune scored a career-high 16 points. Freshman TJ Cusciotta also reached double figures with 12 points.
Cusciotta led the Trojans with a career-best eight rebounds and a career-high six assists. Martin dished out five assists.
Reigard collected four steals with three rebounds and three assists.
NIACC returns to action Saturday in an ICCAC contest at Southwestern CC. Game time in Creston is slated for 3 p.m.
NIACC wraps up its regular season at home against Iowa Central on Feb. 25.
