CEDAR RAPIDS - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 111-76 decision to No. 16 Kirkwood Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
Kirkwood (16-5 overall, 8-4 in the ICCAC) led 54-33 at the half and outscored the Trojans 57-43 in the second 20 minutes. Cole Marsh led the Eagles with 22 points and Chris Coleman was next in line with 19 points.
NIACC was led by Kam'ron Solomon with 17 points and Lance Helming scored 16 points. Solomon connected on three 3-point goals and Helming made two 3-point goals.
NIACC's RJ Mitchell scored nine points and Jacob Martin scored eight points.
RJ Mitchell led the Trojans with five rebounds and Martin grabbed four rebounds.
NIACC (12-9, 5-7) returns to action Wednesday at home against Western Iowa Tech (7-14, 3-9). Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p.m.
