Trojans fall to No. 1 Ellsworth, 126-92
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 126-92 decision to top-ranked Ellsworth Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Ellsworth (13-0 overall, 4-0 in the ICCAC) led 59-43 at the half. The Panthers outscored the Trojans 67-49 in the second 20 minutes.
Jonovan Wilkinson led Ellsworth with 24 points, including five 3-point goals. Alex Charlotin scored 21 points for the Panthers.
Ellsworth was 17 of 32 from 3-point range in Wednesday's contest.
NIACC (7-5, 1-3) was led by freshman TJ Cusciotta with 19 points. Sophomore Jacob Martin scored 16 points and Kam'ron Solomon scored 15 points, freshman RJ Mitchell scored 13 points and sophomore Lance Helming scored 11 points.
Mitchell recorded his first career double/double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Cameron Reigard led the Trojans with six assists.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against Iowa Lakes (2-10, 0-3).
