Trojans roll past Waldorf JV, 95-50
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team cruised to a 95-40 victory Thursday night over the Waldorf University Junior Varsity in the NIACC gym.
NIACC led 52-17 at the half and outscored the Warriors 43-23 in the second half.
NIACC moved its mark to 5-0 heading into Tuesday's non-conference contest at DCTC. The Trojans are 5-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 team started 11-0.
The 40 points allowed by the Trojans on Thursday is the fewest in a game since they topped Association Free Lutheran Bible School 74-39 on Dec. 16, 2017.
In Thursday's 45-point win, freshman guard Bryson Robinson led the Trojans with a carerer-high 16 points. Robinson also collected a career-best six rebounds.
Kirkland Sands, who scored five points, led the Trojans with 14 rebounds in his first game action of the season.
NIACC sophomore guard Jacob Martin scored 14 points with seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks.
NIACC's Cameron Reigard scored 11 points and Eli Menke scored 10 points. Reigard also had five rebounds, four steals and two assists.
NIACC's Ty Franklin scored a career-high eight points with a career-high five rebounds.
