NIACC's Martin earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - For the third time this season, NIACC sophomore guard Jacob Martin has been selected as the ICCAC player of the week for the week of Feb. 2-8.
Martin also earned the league's weekly honor for the weeks of Oct. 27-Nov. 2 and Dec. 22-Jan. 4.
Martin shared the weekly honor for the week of Feb. 2-8 with Iowa Central's Aleix Sempere.
Martin scored 54 points with 13 rebounds and 17 assists in the Trojans' home wins over DCTC and No. 13 Iowa Western.
Against DCTC, Martin narrowly missed a triple/double with 19 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds.
Against Iowa Western, Martin scored a career-high 35 points with six assists and four rebounds.
Martin averages 16.2 points per game, which ranks seventh in the ICCAC. His 129 assists ranks him second in the league as well.
NIACC (14-11 overall, 6-9 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at No. 2 DMACC. Game time in Boone is slated for 7:30 p.m.
