Trojans' Cusciotta earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman TJ Cusciotta has been selected as the ICCAC Division II men's basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 12-18.
Cusciotta shared the weekly honor with Ellsworth's Jayden Pretty and DMACC's Kiki Deng.
Cusciotta, a 6-5 guard from Woodbury, Minn., scored a career-high 30 points in a 104-99 overtime win over No. 5 Iowa Central. Cusciotta was 9 of 17 from the field and an impressive 12 of 13 from the free-throw line.
Against Northeast CC, Cusciotta scored 13 points with five rebounds, four assists in a 98-81 victory.
Cusciotta is the third NIACC men's basketball player to win the league's weekly award. Sophomore guard Jacob Martin was honored for the week's of Oct. 27-Nov. 2 and Dec. 22-Jan. 4.
