Trojans edge Raiders in OT, 82-74
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team outscored Central CC-Columbus 16-8 in overtime to claim a 82-74 victory Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
The game was tied at 66 at the end of regulation, but the Trojans dominated the extra five-minute session for its second overtime win this season. The Trojans also topped Iowa Central 104-99 on Jan. 14 in Fort Dodge.
Freshman TJ Cusciotta led the Trojans with 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Sophomore Lance Helming was next in line for the Trojans with 15 points, including three 3-point goals.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Jacob Martin scored 13 points, sophomore Cameron Reigard scored 12 points and freshman RJ Mitchell scored 11 points.
NIACC's Bryson Robinson scored eight points and eight rebounds. Mitchell also collected eight rebounds for the Trojans.
Central CC-Columbus (10-18, 4-14) was led by Tee Liban with a game-high 24 points. Brandon Jarmon scored 15 points for the Raiders.
NIACC (15-12, 7-10) returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at Iowa Lakes. Game time in Estherville is slated for 7:30 p.m.
