SIOUX CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team opend the ICCAC season with a 75-70 win over Western Iowa Tech on Tuesday.
Freshman TJ Cusciotta led the Trojans with a career-high 21 points. Sophomore Lance Helming also reached double figures for the Trojans with 15 points.
NIACC led 36-27 at the half. The Comets outscored the Trojans 43-39 in the second 20 minutes to trim the final deficit to five points.
Also for the Trojans, Kam'ron Solomon scored nine points, Jacob Martin scored eight points and Cameron Reigard scored seven points.
RJ Mitchell led the Trojans with 10 rebounds, which matched his career high.
NIACC (7-1 overall) returns to action Saturday in a non-league contest at Southeast CC. Game time in Lincoln, Neb. is slated for 1 p.m.
