Moen promoted to NIACC women's basketball associate head coach
MASON CITY - Taylor Moen will begin her third season with the NIACC women's basketball team in the 2026-27 season as the team's associate head coach.
In her second season as an assistant coach with the Trojans, Moen helped guide the Trojans to the NJCAA Region 11-B title and a berth in the NJCAA Division II national tournament. The Trojans advanced to the quarterfinals of the national tournament with a win over Lincoln Land CC before bowing out to top-seed Johnson County CC.
"Taylor has been instrumental in our success the two years she has been at NIACC," NIACC head coach Brad Vaught said. "We are thankful shie is here at NIACC."
In her first season as an assistant coach, Moen helped guide the Trojans to the 2025 NJCAA Region 11-B championship.
Moen was a three-year starter at point guard at Waldorf University from 2020-23. She received her BA in sports management with a business minor from Waldorf in 2023.
After Waldorf, Moen transferred to Culver-Stockon College to play basketball but a concussion prevented her from playing her final season.
Moen has her MBA in business management from Culver-Stockton College.
Moen is in her fourth season with the Minnesota Suns, serving as both a head and assistant coach, as well as an office administrator and social media coordinator. She currently leads the 2031 Orange Team, assists with the 2028 BlueStar team and is often seen supporting other Suns teams from the bench.
