No. 9 Trojans stop No. 22 Hawks, 72-66

NORFOLK, Neb. - The No. 9 NIACC women's basketball team stopped No. 22 Northeast CC 72-66 Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
NIACC (20-2 overall, 14-2 in the ICCAC) moved its winning streak to 10 games and the Trojans remained perfect in the 2026 calendar year. The Trojans completed the season sweep of Northeast CC as they also gained a 71-64 win over the Hawks on Jan. 17 in Mason City.
In Saturday's win over the Hawks, sophomore guard Reggi Spotts led the Trojans with a career-high 30 points. Spotts was 11 of 24 from the field, including five 3-point goals.
Spotts also had eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Spotts now has 852 career points, which ranks 13th on the school's career scoring list. She also had 99 3-point goals, which also ranks 13th on the school's career list, and 163 career steals, which ranks 12th on the school's career list.
Also for the Trojans, freshman forward Ciara Seifert scored 10 points and collected 12 rebounds for her 11th double/double of the season.
Seifert has 243 rebounds this season, which ranks 19th on the school's all-time single season rebounding list.
NIACC's Peyton Meincke, who scored five points, collected a career-high 11 rebounds. The Trojans' Ella Stoskopf scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds.
Northeast CC (14-7, 9-6) was led by Aweng Akoi and Aaliyah Jones with 14 points each.
Saturday's win against Northeast CC gave NIACC coach Brad Vaught his fourth 20-win season in his first six years as coach at NIACC. The Trojans were 25-7 in 2024-25, 23-8 in 2023-24 and 22-9 in 2021-22.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday at home in a non-conference contest against the Mount Mercy University Junior Varsity. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 5 p.m.
