NIACC's Spotts earns ICCAC player of week award
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore guard Reggi Spotts was selected as the ICCAC Division II player of the week for the week of Nov. 3-9.
Spotts, who prepped at Mason City High, shared the weekly award with DMACC freshman Alivia Carr.
It is the second time in her career that Spotts has earned the league's player of the week award. She won the award for the week of Dec. 9-15, 2024 during her freshman campaign.
Spotts helped guide No. 15 NIACC to two wins last weekend at the Lake Region State College Classic in Devils Lake, N.D. She scored a career-high 29 points in a 73-56 win over Lake Region State College and scored 20 points in a narrow 71-67 win over Williston State College.
Spotts was 18 of 41 from the field in the two wins and was 6 of 16 from 3-point range. She was also a perfect 7 of 7 from the charity stripe.
Also in the two wins, Spotts grabbed eight rebounds with four steals, two assists and one blocked shot.
Spotts is averaging 19.8 points per game, which ranks third in the ICCAC and is tied for third in the league with eight 3-point goals. Spotts is also tied for third in the league with 13 steals.
The Trojans (4-0) return to action Friday and Saturday at the Kirkwood Classic in Cedar Rapids. They face Bryant & Stratton (Wis.) at 5 p.m. on Friday and play the Mount Mercy University Junior Varsity at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
