No. 14 Trojans roll, 85-50
MASON CITY - The No. 14 NIACC women's basketball team rolled to an 85-50 victory over Southwestern CC Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (14-2 overall, 8-2 in the ICCAC) led 21-5 after the first quarter. The Trojans increased their lead to 42-15 at the half.
NIACC, which has won four straight games, was led by freshman Ciara Seifert with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. It was Seifert's eighth double/double of the season.
NIACC freshman Ziara Falls scored 13 points with five rebounds, three steals and one assist.
NIACC sophomore Reggi Spotts scored eight points with a season-high seven steals, four rebounds and three assists.
NIACC's Machaela Trask and Grace Berding both scored eight points. The Trojans' Kelsey McDonough scored seven points.
Trask collected four steals and Berding had three steals.
Southwestern CC (3-13, 0-9) was led by Jaide McPhee with a game-high 23 points. Maddie Richter was also in double figures for the Spartans with 12 points.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at Iowa Central. Game time in Fort Dodge is slated for 5:30 p.m.
