NIACC's Spotts signs with Iowa State
AMES - It's official.
NIACC all-American Reggi Spotts has officially signed her national letter of intent to play basketball next season at Iowa State.
"Reggi is an outstanding person from a great family who really represent the Iowa State way," Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said. "She has had success in everything she has done both on and off the court."
Spotts, who prepped at Mason City High, earned NJCAA Division II first-team all-American honors in the 2025-26 season as she helped lead the Trojans to the national tournament for the first time since 2020.
Spotts, who was the NJCAA Region 11 player of the year, averaged 18.8 points per game in her stellar sophomore season. She also averaged 5.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.8 steals per contest.
Spotts connected on 77 3-point goals in the 2025-26 season and shot 81.1 percent from the free throw line (129 of 159).
Spotts scored 1,043 career points, which ranks fourth on the school's career scoring list.
Spotts made 125 career 3-point goals, which ranks sixth on the school's career list. She collected 394 career rebounds (13th on school's career list) with 181 assists (13th on school's career list) and 182 steals (fifth on school's career list).
"Reggi can impact the game on both ends of the floor," Fennelly said, "and that shows in her team first attitude.
"I know our fans will enjoy rooting for someone who is so excited to be a Cyclone."
Spotts joins an Iowa State team that was 22-10 overall in the 2025-26 season and 10-8 in the Big 12 Conference. The Cyclones qualified for the NCAA tournament and dropped a 72-63 decision to Syracuse in the opening round.
