NIACC men to fall to No. 19 Kirkwood, 81-53

MASON CITY - The No. 19 Kirkwood men's basketball team topped NIACc 81-53 in ICCAC action Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.

Kirkwood jumped out to a 19-2 lead and led 44-19 at the half and cruised to the 28-point victory.

Kirkwood (9-6 overall, 9-6 in the ICCAC) was led by Blake Brinkmeyer with 19 points, five rebounds, three blocked shots and one steal.

Also for the Eagles, Chris Burnell scored 15 points and Da'Quavion Walker scored 12 points.

NIACC (3-13, 3-13) was led by sophomore Blake Graham with 11 points. Bradley Andrews scored seven points and Marshaun Carroll scored six points.

NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against Marshalltown CC. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 3 p.m.
