No. 2 DMACC edges NIACC, 75-74
BOONE - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 75-74 decision to No. 2 DMACC on Saturday.
DMACC (6-2 overall, 6-2 in ICCAC) led 45-34 at the half. NIACC (0-8, 0-8) outscored the Bears 40-30 at the half to close the final deficit to a single point.
Christian Haffner led the Bears with 20 points.
NIACC was led by freshman Tysen Brennan with a career-high 19 points, including two 3-point goals. Sophomore McKelary Robertson scored 16 points.
Also for the Trojans, freshman Devon'dre Mayfield scored nine points and collected a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore Jaden Horton scored eight points with seven rebounds and three assists.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Central (4-4, 4-4). Game time is slated for 7 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
Iowa Central topped NIACC 75-64 in the season opener on Jan. 20 in Fort Dodge.
