NIACC falls to Iowa Western, 34-11

MASON CITY - The NIACC wrestling team opened its 2021-22 dual season with a 34-11 loss to Iowa Western on Wednesday night in the NIACC Recreation Center.

NIACC picked up wins from Ryker Pentz (149), Ryan Van Donselaar (165) and Chase McCleish (184).

At 149 pounds, Pentz (2-2) took a 10-7 decision from Iowa Western's Malcom Williams.

At 165 pounds, Van Donselaar (2-2) took a 15-2 major decision from the Reivers' Carter Mix.

At 184 pounds, McCleish (4-0) took a 18-4 major decision from Iowa Western's Alizae Mejia.
