Overgaard leads Trojans at IC Invite
FORT DODGE - Freshman Audrey Overgaard led the NIACC women's golf team Saturday with an 82 on the second day of the Iowa Central Spring Invitational at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
Overgaard, who did not play on Friday, was playing for the first time this spring.
"Audrey Overgaard had to miss (Friday's) round due to a class conflict," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, "and it was good to see her get her first tournament action of the season."
NIACC placed fifth in the team standings with a two-day total of 365-351 - 716. Simpson College was the team champion with rounds of 333-326 - 659 and Briar Cliff was second with rounds of 332-329 - 661.
"The team put up a better score (Saturday)," Frenz said. "I thought they did a great job of competing this weekend.
"We have a lot of golf to be played in the next two weeks. Hopefully, we'll get some nice weather and we'll be able to get after it."
