Trojans place 7th at Graceland Invite
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The NIACC women's golf team placed seventh at the Graceland University Spring Invitational on Saturday at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
NIACC shot rounds of 404-390 - 794. Indian Hills was the team champion with rounds of 330-335 - 665.
"The past couple of days haven't been our best scoring days," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, "but with the course and the weather conditions being very difficult, I thought the entire team did a good job of maintaining a positive attitude and are looking forward to getting back out there."
NIACC was led by sophomore Kenedee Frayne and freshman Avery Knutsen, who both tied for 31st in the individual medalist competiton. Frayne shot rounds of 96-100 - 196 and Knutsen shot 98-98 - 196.
NIACC's Emma Topp shot 102-96 - 198 and Addy Boell shot 108-96 - 204.
"It was a nice bounce back day for Addy Boell and Emma Topp (Saturday)," Frenz said. "All of them said they felt like they were hitting the ball well. It was the short game and putting issues that got them for the most part.
"The weather doesn't look good toward the end of this week, so hopefully we can get some gome good practice in early."
NIACC returns to action April 10-11 at the Iowa Central Invitational in Fort Dodge.
