NIACC's Codling wins long jump at SDSU Indoor Classic
BROOKINGS, S.D. - NIACC's Xavier Codling won the long jump with a leap of 7.07 meters (23 freet, 2 1/2 inches) last weekend at the SDSU Indoor Classic.
Codling's leap of 7.07 meters tied his personal best jump, which he also recorded at Wartburg College's Chelsey M Henkenius Invitational on Jan. 18.
Codling also placed fourth in the Friday Invitational 200-meter dash in a time of 21.85 seconds.
In the mile, NIACC's Gavin Grunhovd placed 39th in a time of 4:19.52, which ranks second on the school's all-time mile list. NIACC's school record in the mile is 4:18.90 by Trey Simons on Feb. 14, 2015 at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
In the 5,000-meter run, Grunhovd placed eighth in a time of 14:53.05, which ranks second on the school's all-time list. Jordan Anderson holds the school record of 14:50.03 on March 7, 2008 at the NJCAA national meet.
In the 200, NIACC's Alex Marchand Fierro placed 13th in a time of 22.44, which ranks seventh on the school's all-time indoor 200 list.
In the 400, Marchand Fierro placed 11th in a time of 49.04. which ranks third on the school's all-time indoor 400 list. NIACC's Gabe Hemsworth placed 29th in a time of 50.31, which ranks sixth on the school's all-time indoor list.
In the triple jump, NIACC's Javon Kille was eighth with a leap of 13.35 meters (43-9 3/4).
In the high jump, NIACC's Kahuan Harris placed 12th with a leap of 1.90 meters (6-2 3/4).
In the weight throw, NIACC's Colin Rasch was 33rd with a toss of 14.18 meters (46-6 1/4). The Trojans' Dylan Hansen was 38th with a toss of 13.57 meters (44-6 1/4), which ranks fifth on the school's all-time list.
