INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. - The NIACC men's basketball team edged DCTC 102-99 in overtime in a non-conference contest Monday night.
The game was tied 90-90 at the end of regulation and the Trojans outscored DCTC 12-9 in the five-minute extra session. It was the first overtime win for the Trojans since they topped Iowa Central 92-88 in triple overtime on Jan. 17, 2015.
NIACC was led by Cortaviaus Seales with 22 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. Jeffrey Skogen scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Jacques Kelly scored 17 points with four rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Also in double figures for the Trojans (8-2 overall) were Tysen Brennan and Devon'dre Mayfield with 12 points each. Brennan connected on four 3-point goals.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at No. 6 Iowa Western in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Council Bluffs.

The 102 points NIACC scored Monday against DCTC is the most by the Trojans in the series. The previous high came in a 101-65 victory over DCTC in the 2018-19 series.
It was the third time this season NIACC has scored at least 100 points in a game. NIACC topped Sisseton Wahpeton College 105-67 and the William Penn Junior Varsity 110-66.
It is the 53rd time under NIACC coach Mark Mohl that the Trojans have scored at least 100 points. The Trojans reached 100 points 14 times in the 2018-19 season and 16 times in the 2019-20 season.

Monday's game was the first overtime game for NIACC since the Trojans dropped a 101-93 overtime decision to Augustana College JV on Dec. 10, 2017.
It was the first overtime win for the Trojans since they stopped Iowa Central 92-88 in triple overtime on Jan. 17, 2015.
Mohl is 5-10 in overtime games.
It was the second game in the series against DCTC that the game went to overtime. DCTC topped NIACC 98-95 in the 2011-12 season.
NIACC improved its record to 8-2 overall with Monday's win. It is the fifth time the Trojans have started 8-2 in Mohl's 14 seasons as head coach.
The Trojans also started 8-2 in 2018-19, 2017-18, 2013-14 and 2008-09. The Trojans started 10-0 in 2019-20 and 9-1 in 2009-10 and 2012-13.
