NIACC men return to action this weekend
COLUMBUS, Neb. - The NIACC men's basketball team returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the Pinnacle Bank Thanksgiving Classic.
NIACC (4-1 overall) faces host Central CC-Columbus at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Trojans face North Central Missouri College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
NIACC was last in action on Nov. 13 at Ellsworth's Dale Howard Classic when the Trojans stopped the William Penn Junior Varsity 110-66. Jacques Kelly led the Trojans with 20 points.
No. 16 (NJCAA Division II) Central CC-Columbus (7-1) is 3-1 against ICCAC foes this season. The Raiders topped Northeast CC (93-68), Ellsworth (67-66) and Iowa Central (58-54) with their lone loss to Iowa Western (78-70).
North Central Missouri (5-5) is 2-3 against ICCAC teams this season. The Pirates stopped defending NJCAA Division II national champion DMACC (78-65), lost to Ellsworth (67-59), lost to Iowa Western (90-63), downed Southwestern (90-74) and fell to Kirkwood (92-88).
Notes: NIACC is 3-0 all-time against Central CC-Columbus ... The Trojans topped the Raiders twice in the 2019-20 season - winning 111-82 and 115-103 ... The Trojans are 3-3 all-time against North Central Missouri ... The last time the two teams met was in the 2009-10 season with the Trojans winning 110-78 ...
