NIACC's Swaby places top 8 in 4 events
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC's Breanna Swaby earned three top-eight finishes at the NJCAA Region 11 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Swaby placed third in the discus with a toss of 37.47 meters (122 feet, 11 inches). She was also seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 37.14 meters (121-10), placed seventh in the javelin with a toss of 23.45 meters (76-11) and placed eighth in the shot put with a toss of 10.24 meters (33-7 1/4).
Also in the discus for the Trojans, Kayla Buscher was fourth with a toss of 37.20 meters (122-0) and Kiara Colton-Spearman was eighth with a toss of 30.58 meters (100-4).
In the hammer throw, Buscher was seventh with a toss of 39.27 meters (128-10).
In the javelin, NIACC's Hannah Brinkman was sixth with a toss of 25.86 meters (84-10).
In the shot put, Buscher was seventh with a throw of 10.78 meters (35-4 1/2).
In the 400-meter dash, NIACC's Suzanne Guedeyi placed fifth in a time of 1 minute, 3.91 seconds and Abby Chapman was sixth in a time of 1:04.62.
NIACC's 4x100-meter relay team of Addison Adam, Chapman, Jada Ramaker and Guedeyi placed third in a time of 49.28 seconds.
NIACC placed fourth in the team standings with 55 points.
