NIACC stops Fort Scott CC, 65-60
MASON CITY - Jaycob Payne scored 15 points and Harrison Mills scored 11 points to lead the NIACC men's basketball team to a 65-60 victory over Fort Scott CC on Friday night at the Konigsmark Klassic.
NIACC led 34-33 at the half and outscored Fort Scott CC 31-27 in the second half as the Trojans won their season opener for the 12th straight season.
The last time the NIACC men did not win their season opener was in the 2005-06 season when they dropped a 96-93 decision to North Central Missouri.
Payne also added seven rebounds and two steals in his collegiate debut. Nick Wurm led the Trojans with six assists.
