MASON CITY - Sophomore Jacob Neutz set the NIACC baseball single-season for home runs in Friday's doubleheader loss to Southeastern CC at Roosevelt Field.
Neutz, who is from Burnsville, Minn., hit two home runs in Friday's first game 16-6 loss to Southeastern CC. Neutz now has 26 home runs this season, which broke the previous single-season home run mark of 25 by Robbie Glendinning in 2016.
Neutz hit a two-run home run in the first inning to tie the school's single-season mark and added a solo home run in the second inning to break the 10-year old record.
Neutz' three RBIs in Friday's first game moved his single-season RBI total to 77, which ranks third on the school's single-season RBI list.
Glendinning holds the school's all-time single-season RBI record with 87 in 2016 and Troy Bullinghamd (2016) ranks second with 82.
Also in the first game against Southeastern CC, NIACC sophomore Tommy Lyman hit a solo home run leading off the first inning.
Southeastern CC won the second game 22-0 in seven innings.
The two teams wrap up their three-game series on Saturday in a single game. The first pitch at Roosevelt Field is set for noon.
