MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 11-1 decision to Northeast CC in eight innings Monday in an ICCAC contest at Roosevelt Field.
Northeast CC, which won two out of three games in the series, pounded out 12 hits to score its 11 runs. The Hawks (27-20 overall, 10-8 in the ICCAC) scored multiple runs in three innings, including four runs in the seventh innng and three runs in the first frame.
NIACC scored its lone run in the second inning when Justyn Rivera plated James Hagen with a sacrifice fly.
Hagen collected two of the Trojans' four hits. Jacob Neuts and Tiago Cavallo also had singles for the Trojans.
NIACC (7-34, 4-14) returns to action Wednesday in a league twinvill at Iowa Central. The first game in Fort Dodge is slated to start at 1 p.m.
