No. 11 NIACC opens season at No. 2 Iowa Western
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The No. 11 NIACC wrestling team opens its 2017-18 season against No. 2 Iowa Western Wednesday in a dual meet.
The match starts at 7 p.m.
In the individual preseason rankings by Intermat, NIACC's Austin Anderly is ranked No. 1 at 141 pounds, Ryan Faught is ranked seventh at 165 pounds and Jaylen Lee is ranked fourth at 184 pounds.
Anderly earned all-American honors by placing fifth at 141 pounds at last season's national meet in Council Bluffs. Anderly was 14-7 with 2 two falls, one technical fall and four major decisions as a freshman.
All three ranked NIACC wrestlers will be in the lineup Wednesday against the Reivers.
Iowa Western enters the dual meet with six ranked wrestlers. They are Emmanuel Brown (third at 125), D'Andre Brumfield (first at 133), Tell Ward (third at 157), Cody Kingery (seventh at 174), Seth Ham (fifth at 197) and Travis Gusan (seventh at 285).
