NIACC faces Northeast in Boone today
BOONE - The season long road trip continues for the NIACC softball team.
NIACC (13-17 overall, 4-4 in the ICCAC) plays Northeast CC (14-18, 3-7) Wednesday in a league doubleheader on the DMACC campus. The first game is slated to start at 2 p.m.
NIACC, which has played all 30 of its games on the road or at neutral sites, plays at Ellsworth (8-16, 2-6) in a conference twinbill on Thursday. The first game in Iowa Falls is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
NIACC is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Iowa Central last Saturday in Austin, Minn. The Lady Trojans topped the Tritons 8-7 and 14-9.
New all-time hit queen
Sophomore Morgan Thesing-Ritter is the NIACC softball team's all-time hit leader with 134 career hits. She collected 82 hits in her freshman season and has 52 hits so far in her sophomore campaign.
Thesing-Ritter passed Tricia Notermann (2015-16), who collected 121 career hits. She is the 11th member of the softball program's 100-hit club.
