NIACC volleyball team returns five sophomores

MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team returns five sophomores for the 2018 season.

Returning for the Lady Trojans, who were 8-23 a year ago, are Connor Gauch, Hannah Wagner, Shelby Heston, Sydney Roush and Jordana Foote.

NIACC opens the 2018 season at the Waubonsee CC Invitational on Aug. 24-25 in Sugar Grove, Ill.

The Lady Trojans' home opener is slated for Aug. 29 in an ICCAC match against Southwestern.

Wagner was a second-team all-NJCAA Region XI selection during her freshman campaign. Wagner recorded 278 kills with 223 digs, 31 blocks and 15 ace serves.

Heston was a second-team all-NJCAA Region XI-A selection a year ago. Heston tallied 223 kills with 259 digs, 29 blocks and 22 ace serves.

Roush recorded 799 assists, which was sixth in the ICCAC, last season. Roush also had 189 digs and 18 ace serves.
