NIACC women play at Northeast CC in tourney opener

NORFOLK, Neb. - The NIACC women's soccer team faces Northeast CC in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI tournament at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

NIACC (6-6-1 overall, 4-4-1 in the ICCAC) is the sixth seed for the regional tournament. Northeast CC (7-6-1, 6-3) enters the post-season as the No. 3 seed.

Top-seed Iowa Western and second-seed Iowa Central earned first-round byes in the regional tournament.

The NIACC/Northeast CC winner faces Iowa Central in the regional semifinals at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Fort Dodge.

Northeast CC topped NIACC 2-0 in their ICCAC match on Sept. 12 in Mason City.

2 p.m. - Iowa Lakes/Indian Hills winner at (1) Iowa Western (11-2, 9-0)

2 p.m. - NIACC/Northeast CC winner at (2) Iowa Central (12-2, 8-1)

SUNDAY, OCT. 28 CHAMPIONSHIP

Highest remaining seed hosts. If a school has lights, the match is at 3 p.m. If school doesn't have lights, championship is at 2 p.m.
