NIACC women blank Scott CC, 2-0

BETTENDORF - The NIACC women's soccer team topped Scott CC 2-0 on Saturday in an ICCAC match and clinched a berth in the NJCAA Region XI tournament.

Rachel Kontze and Michaela Elford scored goals in the Lady Trojans' second straight victory.

NIACC improved its record to 6-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the ICCAC and the sixth win is the most in school history for women's soccer. The 2002 NIACC women were 5-5-2.

The NIACC women also clinched a berth in the regional tournament, which starts on Sunday. The top six teams in the ICCAC qualify for the regional tournament.

The Lady Trojans tied for fifth with Iowa Lakes in the regional standings. Pairings for the regional tournament have not been released.
