NIACC women stay at No. 3 in latest rankings

MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team remained No. 3 in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.

NIACC (8-2 overall, 1-0 ICCAC) was No. 10 in the preseason poll, No. 3 in the Dec. 4 poll and was third in the Dec. 11 poll.

Johnson County CC is ranked No. 1, Highland, Kan. is ranked No. 2 and Kirkwood is ranked No. 11.

NIACC opened ICCAC play with a 113-92 win at Southwestern on Dec. 8.

NIACC owns a victory over No. 4 Illinois Central (95-89 in overtime). The Lady Trojans have lost to No. 1 Johnson County (82-74) and No. 2 (NJCAA Division I) Trinity Valley (78-73).

NIACC returns to action at the Illinois Central holiday tournament on Dec. 28. The Lady Trojans' open the three-day, eight-team tournament against Bryant & Stratton (Wisconsin).
