NIACC splits pair with Iowa Central

OSKALOOSA - The NIACC softball team split an ICCAC doubleheader with Iowa Central on Friday on the Willam Penn University campus.

Iowa Central won the first game 7-4 in eight innings and NIACC took the second game 11-8.

In the first game, NIACC tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh innings.

Iowa Central's Cheyenne Andersen hit a three-run home run in the top of the eighth inning and held the Lady Trojans scoreless in the bottom of the eighth inning.

In the second game, NIACC scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-4 lead and added a solo run in the fifth inning.

Iowa Central tied the game at 8-8 with four runs in the sixth inning.

NIACC scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held the Tritons scoreless in the top of the seventh to claim the split in the twinbill.
