NIACC men stop Wartburg JV, 88-80

MASON CITY - Nick Wurm scored 25 points and Orrington Hamilton scored a career-high 24 points to lead the NIACC men's basketball team to an 88-80 victory over the Wartburg College Junior Varsity on Sunday afternoon in the NIACC gym.

NIACC led 40-34 at the half and outscored the Knights 48-46 in the second 20 minutes to claim the non-conference victory.

Also for the Trojans, Jaycob Payne scores eight points with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

NIACC (14-9 overall) returns to action Wednesday night at home against league-leading Kirkwood in an ICCAC contest. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
