NIACC splits pair with Tyler, NOC-Enid

ENID, Okla. - The NIACC baseball team topped Tyler JC 16-7 and dropped a 12-5 decision to Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on Sunday.

NIACC (6-5) pounded out a season-high 19 hits, including three home runs, in its win over Tyler JC. Jacob Hansen hit two home runs and Joey Werner also homered for the Trojans.

NIACC's Tom Skoro gained the win against Tyler JC moving his personal mark to 3-0. Skoro allowed one run on three hits with six strikeouts and four walks in four innings of work.

Hansen was 2 for 3 and drove in five runs to lead the NIACC offense. Ezequias Encarnacion was 5 for 5 and scored three runs.

The two home runs for Hansen against Tyler JC is the second time this season a Trojan has hit two home runs in a game and 29th time in the Travis Hergert era that a player has homered twice in the same game. The 5-hit game by Encarnacion is tied for the second most hits in a game by a Trojan in the Hergert era.

In the second game, NOC-Enid scored three runs in the second inning, added four runs in the fourth frame and plated five runs in the fifth inning to score its 12 runs.

For NIACC, Kamrin Arons was 2 for 4, including a double, with three RBIs.
